Ketamine - Houston

Ketamine Therapy

Ketamine therapy is an intravenous infusion treatment that delivers a low dose of ketamine directly to the patient’s bloodstream. Physicians have used ketamine as an anesthetic for decades and new research shows that when ketamine is provided in smaller doses, it has positive effects on symptoms of depression and other mental health issues.

Unlike traditional pain relief medications, antidepressants and anti-anxiety drugs which may not provide immediate impact, ketamine provides rapid relief from the patient’s symptoms.

P-Stimm

Pulse Stimulation Therapy (P-STIM)

Invented by Jozef C Szeles, MD of Austria’s University of Vienna, the P-STIM applies electrical stimulation to the ear (auricular therapy) over several days. Unlike similar technologies, which apply electrical stimulation for only several hours, Dr. Szeles discovered that a “wearable” P-STIM, with continuous pulses of low-level current applied over several days (and repeated over several weeks), is more effective at treatment. In over 16,000 treatments administered by Dr. Szeles, the majority of patients have experienced almost complete relief from pain and related symptoms (anxiety, depression and insomnia).

Adult Inpatient Chemical Dependency

Adult Inpatient Chemical Dependency

Sacred Oak Medical Center offers inpatient rehabilitation for patients suffering from addiction. With around-the-clock supervision, a structured schedule, a range of therapeutic activities, and dedicated teams of experienced professionals, inpatient rehabilitation provides adults with the comprehensive support that they need to overcome chemical dependency and certain co-occurring conditions. A patient’s treatment plan will vary according to their unique needs but each person’s treatment will encompass psycho-educational lectures (to learn about addiction and recovery), group therapy (to discuss and process what you have learned as well as your feelings and any issues that may surface), individual therapy, family therapy and education (because addiction is a family disease), and 12-step programming.

Intensive Outpatient Program

Intensive Outpatient Program

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) provide time limited, multidisciplinary, multimodal structured treatment in an outpatient setting, Such programs are less intensive than a partial hospital program but significantly more intensive than outpatient psychotherapy and medication management. (This level of care does not include medical oversight or medication evaluation/management).

Partial Hospitalization

Partial Hospitalization

Partial hospitalization programs (PHP) are offered for patients as part of the treatment continuum. These programs offer a safe, structured environment while enabling the patient to return home at night and maintain important family and community relationships. The Partial hospitalization program may be appropriate for patients making the transition from inpatient to outpatient treatment or as a program alternative for patients who do not present any danger to themselves or others but need a structured treatment plan and environment. Family and support person involvement is a crucial part of the treatment process, since the patient returns home each night it is important that family members and support persons are involved in the therapeutic process and attend family programming on a weekly basis.
