Did you know that 1 in 5 adults in the United States will experience mental illness in any given year? Or that 1 in 25 American adults will experience a mental illness that is so severe it will interfere with their daily lives? We are learning more about mental illness every day, including that ketamine infusion therapy has proven to be a viable treatment for depression. We also know that highly structured therapy programs can successfully help adults cope with and recover from the obstacles their mental illness presents them with. Here are two of our behavioral health programs and how they compare.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) For Adult Behavioral Health
Not quite in-patient care, our PHP is designed for adults who suffer from behavioral health disorders and require extensive, high-level structure and focused care to address their illness, symptoms, and triggers. The goal of this program is to guide adults in a gradual manner that will then prepare them for a return to their normal life–at least to some extent.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for Behavioral Health
This outpatient program for depression treatment, anxiety treatment, or other mental illness treatment is also highly structured, but to a lesser level than the Partial Hospitalization Program. We recommend this program to individuals who meet some or all of the following criteria:
Completed our In-Patient Behavioral Health Treatment
The individual has completed our Partial Hospitalization Program
The individual’s mental illness is not severe enough to justify undergoing the aforementioned treatments, but still needs help recovering and living a mentally healthier life
How Both Houston Outpatient Programs For Adult Mental Illness Work
The Partial Hospitalization Program for Behavioral Health Disorders consists of 5 classes per week, each class session lasting 6 hours, for a period of 2 months.
On the other hand, the Intensive Outpatient Program lasts 6 weeks and consists of 3 group sessions a week, all of which last three hours. It also consists of 2 or 3 individual therapy sessions a month so adults can get more individualized help.
