Alcohol Addiction

Sacred Oak offers group therapy with licensed counselors so the individual can better understand their situation and the recovery that awaits them.

Alcohol Addiction

Alcohol Addiction, also known as alcoholism or alcohol use disorder, is a disease in which an individual regularly and uncontrollably drinks alcohol. Relying on alcohol stems from an emotional and physical dependence on it, meaning the individual will continue to consume it even though their life has been negatively impacted as a result of their drinking.

The negative effects of alcohol on the individual's life can present themselves as health problems such as liver disease and cancers, legal problems such as DWI citations, and even broken relationships.

DWI (Driving While Impaired)

DWI, otherwise known as Driving While Intoxicated, means a driver was operating a vehicle with alcohol or drugs present in their system. Texas has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to driving while intoxicated, as this means that the driver lacked the mental and physical capabilities necessary to operate a vehicle, which resulted in putting themselves and others in danger.

Often, being cited with a DWI occurs as a result of the individual experiencing underlying challenges with alcohol abuse, which can quickly turn into an alcohol addiction. For individuals who have been cited with a DWI multiple times, we offer a DWI Intervention Program for Repeat Offenders.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our Partial Hospitalization Program is for individuals who are in the midst of their journey to overcoming alcohol abuse or drug abuse. Unlike complete in-patient treatment, patients are allowed to go home in the evenings while still getting focused care in a highly structure environment.

The goal of this program is to give patients who do not pose a danger to themselves an extra push so they can successfully return to their normal day-to-day activities. Because this is the most intensive recovery program we offer and patients return home every night, it is crucial that their family and friends that form their support system take part in the therapeutic process for recovery.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

The Intensive Outpatient Program is best suited for those that have successfully completed the PHP and have reached a point in their recovery from substance abuse where they are more stable, but still want help from a highly-structured intensive program to prevent relapse. The key difference between this program and the PHP is that this outpatient program allows for a bit more flexibility in the amount of hours each class and therapy session lasts.

Supportive Outpatient Program (SOP)

The Supportive Outpatient Program is even more flexible and it is ideal for individuals who require a less intensive approach and more supportive approach in their recovery from drug abuse. This program is ideal for those who have completed the Partial Hospitalization Program as well as the Intensive Outpatient Program. This program focuses on offering individual therapy sessions as desired and offers 3 hours or more of group sessions, depending on the individual's need. This is a great way to continuously encourage the patient's sobriety so that they don't abuse substances again and develop a drug addiction later on.
